Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. She has five siblings - two half-brothers and a half-sister, and two younger siblings. The name she was given by her parents since they wanted to see her achieve success. The nickname she was given in her childhood, Smiley, due to her infectious personality, was eventually shortened to Miley. Her father was an elected Democratic politician who was named Ron Cyrus. Cyrus began her education at Heritage Elementary School located in Tennessee. Her family relocated out of Tennessee and into Toronto Canada in the year she turned eight years old. Billy Ray Cyrus took on an appearance in Doc (2001) as a lead on the TV show. Around this time when Cyrus determined that she wanted to play a part as well. Her father was the lead as Doc in Doc (2001). Also, she landed a minor performance on Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). Cyrus played as a character in Hannah Montana (2006) (a Disney show about a teenage girl who leads a double-life as a performer) as the main character. Once again, her father joined her on screen. The performance was huge and record sales as well as sell-out shows and merchandise deals followed. Cyrus quickly became a star in the eyes of young people. Following the success of Hannah Montana (2006), Cyrus began to move into different roles. She was her role as Ronnie Miller in The Last Song (2010) and Lola in LOL (2012) alongside Demi Moore.
